I've always been interested in music and started by listening to my Dads military march music. In fith grade I started playing the trombone. I moved to the Northeast in sixth grade and continued playing trombone throughout Junior and Senior High school. I also played baritone bugle in a couple of the local Drum and Bugle corps. It was always very precision marching and playing so when we saw Pipe Bands in the local parades, they always seemed to be poor musicians that couldn't march. I never ever thought I'd be playing in one when I got older, but hear I am! I've been piping for a little over twenty years and finally am able to devote a little more time to learning. I've heard the same things about learning the pipes for many years, but no one ever really explained it in a way that really stuck and made sense until Doju U. I currently play in the Atlanta Pipe Band, the United States Coast Guard Pipe Band, and have also been a member of the John Mohr Mackintosh Pipes and Drums.
