Bio

I am a school psychologist working in Southern California. I enjoy spending my free time with my wife and kids and have been involved in music since I was in elementary school. I try and maintain balance in my life by going to church on Sundays, daily prayers, frequent exercise, and video gaming with friends on the weekends. My wife and I were avid runners for a while and when my knee gave out I turned to mountain biking and other types of exercise. I enjoy going to Mexico for the summers with the family and expect to one day invest in a place in Jalisco near Chapala. Nice retirement area. I am described by colleagues at work as a nice and supportive individual. I don’t intend to be, but it is in my nature to be respectful and loyal to those close to me. My wife would say I’m goofy. I love humor and I like to tell stories. When I was in high school, I heard the bagpipes for the first time and fell in love with them. No one in my area played a set, so I never quite had the pleasure to try a set. I’ve always had an exclusive taste for music so my music was never never popular in my area. I remember sharing with my wife, then girlfriend, and friends that I had always wanted to play the bagpipes but did not know where to get a set. I guess I did not look hard enough. When I found a website back in 2002, I realized they were very expensive. That dream ended very quickly. After some time, I looked around again and got me a kitchen bagpipe (which was the convertible type you take apart into a Chanter or set as a goose) to learn on. Ever since then I started to teach myself with books and videos and any other resource I could find to learn. A year later, I got me a set of bagpipes and here I am. I’m wanting to start from scratch and pick up the bagpipe skills I lack - and there are many.
